John spent hours and hours researching tracking down fathers of 'War babies', children who were conceived during the overseas deployment of Canadian Forces during the Second Wold War and who never knew their fathers.
Those men and woman who have been reunited know already that John is as deserving as any for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal.

JOHN BOERS KNIGHTED
John Boers was Royal Honored in the Netherlands on the 30th of June 2002, for the work he has done and still does for the Children of the Liberation. Since 20 years he has been doing research for children fathered by Allied forces and united many children with their fathers and or family. Mayor Mr. G.J. de Graaf of Apeldoorn represented Queen Beatrix in Knighting John of Companion of the Order of Orange Nassau.
